SBG & W2W Exposes MMA Training to Ordinary Athletes

KALISPELL, MT, SEPTEMBER 18, 2018 – Straight Blast Gym Kicks Off Wimp 2 Warrior

SBG Montana will be hosting tryouts for Wimp 2 Warrior on Tuesday, September 18th and Saturday, September 22nd. The web series, which gives ordinary athletes a chance to experience MMA training, will start filming the training on Tuesday, October 9th.

Wimp 2 Warrior is a program that inducts regular people into a 22-week MMA training program. The series culminates in an MMA event promoted by Wimp 2 Warrior featuring the participants on the card.

The goal is to provide a platform where men and women step outside their comfort zone and achieve something they didn’t think possible. In doing so, the experience shows people that they can take part in MMA training and be less intimidated by it.

SBG specializes in training the average athlete and will bring valuable coaching experience to the program. The international organization has had a lot of success with the program in it’s Ireland gyms.

Head Coach Travis Davison said, “At SBG we have always been in the business of strengthening the weak and helping people be the best version of themselves they can be, so partnering with Wimp 2 Warrior was a no-brainer for us.”

So far the roster includes students from inside and outside the gym. The coaches are thrilled to draw in people who aren’t already members and are from the greater community.

“This is a chance to have something to train for and be part of something bigger than ourselves,” Davison shared. “Wimp 2 Warrior is for anyone who wants to push themselves, test themselves and improve themselves in a safe environment.”

SBG Montana has an MMA team that has been training since the gym opened it’s doors in 2008 with many of their athletes competing in regional amateur fights. Wimp 2 Warrior is the first program of it’s kind to be offered by SBG Montana.

“I can’t wait to give the residents of the Flathead Valley the opportunity to experience all the benefits that come from training in the martial arts,” Davison said.
